Shop talk with David Stovall

April 5, 2010

5:00 PM - 6:30 PM

6058 West North Avenue Chicago, IL

The Public Square and the Institute for Research on Race and Public Policy at UIC invite you to "Shop Talk," a community conversation series that brings UIC scholars together with west side residents to discuss the connections between race, ethnicity, and public policy. The next event of the series, on Friday, April 2, 5-6:30pm will feature David Stovall, Associate Professor of Educational Policy Studies in the College of Education and African American Studies at UIC.  His book, Handbook of Social Justice Education, co-edited with William C. Ayers and Therese Quinn, provides a comprehensive review of the field and addresses, from multiple perspectives, education theory, research, and practice in historical and ideological contexts.

Join us at Ron’s Barbershop in Chicago’s Austin community every last Friday of every month as we wrangle with hard issues and build bridges between the university and the community.
