Event Description:

Cardenal's moderated lecture/reading is the only event taking place in Chicago from his tour which includes stops in Milwaukee. The event is intended to inspire thoughtful dialogue and unique perspectives on several important topics.
Ernesto Cardenal is a poet, priest, and an icon of culture and literature in Latin American and specifically in his home country of Nicaragua. Throughout his time in the public light, Cardenal has held public office as Minister of Culture and was nominated to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature. Ernesto Cardenal is a major poet of the Spanish language well-known in the United States as a spokesman for justice and self-determination in Latin America.
