Assistant Director 

As assistant director for the Department of African American Studies, Briana works with faculty to coordinate programming and outreach as well as and develop curricula to support the mission and goals of the Department.  

Briana received her BA in Black Studies from Amherst College. Currently, she is in the process of earning her MAT in U.S. History from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her research interests include labor, incarceration, and surveillance in the United States as well as racial identity in the Spanish-speaking Caribbean.
