ALLISON JAMES

Undergraduate Advisor for Majors/Minors

Allison serves as the advisor for majors/minors in African American Studies, English, Gender and Women's Studies, and Latin American and Latino Studies. She earned her MA in Latin American Studies from UIC and her BA in English/Creative Writing and Spanish from Augustana College. Prior to joining UIC, Allison served as a Peace Corps volunteer teaching English in Nicaragua and has worked for Chicago-based organizations in services for undocumented immigrant youth, literacy, and more. It is strongly recommended to meet with your department advisor at least once per semester. You can discuss: course planning, degree audit reviews, declaration of a major/minor, registration issues, graduation checks, progress in the major, careers, graduate school, study abroad, internships, good books to read, and more!
